Insight Support Services was established in 1993 by Debbie and Julie, who aimed to improve service delivery for children and families with diverse needs. Initially comprising a team of four, the agency now boasts a multidisciplinary staff of 50. The core values include authentic relationships, trust, and open communication, emphasizing each individual's unique talents. There's no uniform method to aid clients in achieving their potential, reflecting the staff's diversity.
As the agency expanded, it consistently adhered to best practices and advocated for continuous enhancement of services through professional development for staff and parents. Insight believes effective support arises from partnerships with parents, understanding children’s unique requirements. It serves as a nurturing environment where families are respected and included.
Insight Support Services strives to be a vehicle spearheading positive change in the way services to children, youth and families living with special needs and other developmental conditions are delivered. This results in every individual having the necessary building blocks to be successful and have a belief in their future. As well, it also gives them the promise of belonging in some meaningful way in this, their community - a community where family is core and diversity is celebrated.
Insight Education Program acknowledges that we are situated on the traditional and unceded lands of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc within Secwépemc’ulucw, the traditional territory of the Secwépemc people. We recognize that this territory has always been a place of teaching, learning and research, and we continue these traditions. We acknowledge the Secwepemc people who have been here for thousands of years. We acknowledge the many Indigenous Peoples from across this land.
