The Insight Education Program is an academic program specifically designed for students on the autism spectrum. It offers students an individual academic and social-emotional program built upon a student's strengths and interests. The program follows the principles of Universal Design for Learning. It provides information in multiple formats to cater to different learning styles, and students demonstrate and express their understanding and knowledge in various ways.
The educational team at Insight uses a trauma-informed, relational, and developmental framework when developing interventions and policies. Insight prioritizes a student's sense of belonging, safety, and connection, acknowledging that for a student to engage with the academic curriculum, they must first feel safe, understood, and connected to their school community.
The Insight team comprises certified teachers, educational assistants, counsellors, behavior specialists, occupational therapists, and speech and language support. The program limits the number of students attending to maintain a consistent educator-to-student ratio.
Insight Education Program acknowledges that we are situated on the traditional and unceded lands of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc within Secwépemc’ulucw, the traditional territory of the Secwépemc people. We recognize that this territory has always been a place of teaching, learning and research, and we continue these traditions. We acknowledge the Secwepemc people who have been here for thousands of years. We acknowledge the many Indigenous Peoples from across this land.
